I agree, Mark: Hamlet 2 was a piece of shit. None of the jokes landed (Steve Coogan’s performance was especially off) and the characters were completely unlikable. I thought the actual concept of the play “Hamlet 2″ was cool; maybe with some more talented writers on board, they could have developed the idea further. Unfortunately, what we got was a total waste of time.

Collin, don’t be “disheartened” by this guy’s bad review of the film; it’s more about his hang-ups than the film. H2 isn’t on my 2008 Top 10 list or anything, but it’s actually rather funny, and if anything ventures too far into being sentimental to be a really good satire.

It’s disheartening to hear that Hamlet 2 was shitty. I was rather looking forward to being rocked by Sexy Jesus.

Judging from your description, it sounds like it’s like the subject of The Offspring song “Cool to Hate.”
