Friday the 13th doesn't need to be reinvented into a serious artistic project. Jason movies are all about the Lowest Common Denominator. Boobs and blood. They revel in their gratuitousness and wear it as a badge of honor. It's what makes them so much fun! They're kinda like a slasher version of Jerry Springer. Personally, my favorite of the series is one of the most reviled entries: Jason X. So many great elaborate deaths and puns. The sleeping bag scene still cracks me up to this day.
