In yesterday’s New York Times, I enjoyed my second-ever television feature (and my first in the Sunday Arts & Leisure television section.)Â
If you want to know more about the unusual working relationship of actors Bobby Cannavale and Sarah Paulson—and you know you do—then read this story!

Hmm…I won’t ever get the opportunity to assess their chemistry in this play, but I know its sorely lacking in Cupid. I wrote it off after its last episode aired a couple weeks ago. Cupid is one of those how did so much talent-Rob Thomas of Veronica Mars, Bobby Canavale, Sarah Paulson-come together and still make something so thoroughly mediocre projects.
I blame Paulson-or at least her character. I’ve liked her in other things, but on Cupid her character is crabby, stuck up and thoroughly unlikeable. Not sure if that’s what the writers are going for, or Paulson’s delivery, but it kills the show. This show leans entirely on its two leads-it has a couple underwritten supporting characters that do nothing and a roster of forgettable couples-of-the-week. If you can’t root for the leads-and there is no reason that I would want Paulson’s horrible character to get the hotness that is Bobby Canavale-then the show is doomed.
