You guys… did I just have a baby? Possibly! Because that’s how excited I am to bring this new video into the world. Some amazing colleagues and I created it for TDF Stages, the online theatre magazine I edit, and I just could NOT be happier with how it turned out.
This is Episode 1 of Theatre 101, TDF’s web miniseries on the ins and outs of live performance. Today’s sassy topic is Choosing The Perfect Show. Look for the rest of the episodes later this week!
I’m excited to share this video, which we just posted at TDF STAGES, the online theatre magazine I edit.
The clip takes you behind the scenes of Passion Play, an epic new piece by Pulitzer-nominated playwright Sarah Ruhl that Epic Theatre Ensemble is staging in a renovated Brooklyn church.
I created this video because I wanted to explore how important a physical space can be to the production of a play. I’d love to get your thoughts and responses!
Who wants some hot links?!?!!
First, you need to see this video that we created over at TDF STAGES. It features some of the world’s worst audience etiquette. Have you ever behaved like this guy?
Next, did you hear that S. Epatha Merkerson is leaving Law & Order? Sigh. I knew she couldn’t dazzle and delight us as Lt. Anita Van Buren forever, but I will still be sorry to see her leave the show. Note to the writers: Do not let Van Buren succumb to the cancer she’s been battling all season. I’m sure you’ve already written the season-ending episode, but if you put in a death scene, go back and take it out. Thank you.
Meanwhile, Film Experience continues to play the First and Last game, where you see the first and last images from a film and guess the title. Super fun!
And finally, Levity is the Soul of Wit puts the word “fanny” to excellent use.

Awwww snap. It’s time for the first-ever video edition of the Best Picture Expansion Project, where we imagine that the newly reinstated Oscar rule of nominating ten films for Best Picture applied from 1943 to 2008.
I’m rocking it camera style to dip into 2007. Can you handle the video goodness? Can you?!?!
Before we start, here’s the list of films that were released in 2007. And if you want to enjoy the rest of the Project, just go here.
And now, on with the show:

Hey y’all… here’s The Critical Condition’s latest video. It’s a stirring call to arms that explains why Big Love and True Blood both deserve serious attention when the Emmy nominations are announced next month. Check out my arguments and let me know what you think:
As always, many thanks to Brad at Art Meets Commerce for his exceptional cinematography and editing.

Check it out! In the latest iPod Reading from The Critical Condition, I divine secrets from the iPod of Mark Indelicato, who plays Justin on Ugly Betty. Mark was totally game for this shoot, and we had a great time. I’m proud to present the results (with thanks to the folks at Art Meets Commerce for helping to make it happen.)
